LEO – Header Definitions

This page explains all headers available in the LEO (Log Emissions Overview) export. The export contains a mix of user-entered data, system metadata, and derived/calculated values. Some numeric values may appear proportionally split when filters are applied (monthly slicing). To understand the split better please see here

Video Walkthrough:

1. Identification & Core Metadata

Log ID

Unique identifier of the log used to group multiple log entries for easier categorization and filtering.

Log entry ID

Unique identifier of the individual log entry instance. Useful for audits and debugging.

Log entry title

Optional input - text name of log entry to describe a log entry in plain language and more detail. If left empty, the subcategory name will be used as the title

Log description

Optional input - custom description for the created log for additional detail

2. Categorization & Scope

Log category

Includes the name of the category selected (e.g. Company vehicles, Office goods, Purchased services etc)

Log subcategory

More granular classification within the Cozero log category (e.g within log category “Company vehicles” , the subcategory can be e.g. “Delivery vehicle” or “Passenger vehicle”).

Scope and subcategory

Scope classification (Scope 1, Scope 2, Scope 3.4 etc).

3. Business & Organisational Context

Business Activity

Describes the underlying business activity identified by the Cozero database to calculate emissions (e.g. 'Biodiesel' for Delivery vehicles type emissions, 'country residual or grid mix' for electricity emissions etc).

Business unit

Name of the business unit associated with the log. Can be any BU chosen while creating the log by user. This has to be part of BUs already created within the platform before the log creation.

Responsible

Assigned owner or user responsible for the log entry.

4. Data Quality & Status

Data quality

Indicates the quality level of the data based on completeness and methodology. Data quality can be unknown or of unverified origin, proxy, secondary or primary.

Calculation method

Method used to calculate emissions (e.g. spend-based, activity-based).

Calculation status

Indicates whether the calculation was completed successfully, is blocked, in calculation, failed etc.

From bulk import

File name of the bulk import (if the log is created via bulk import).

5. Location & Territory

Location

Name of the location associated with the log.

Location tags

Tags assigned to the location for grouping and filtering (by user)

Territory

Country/geographical region associated with the log (used for EF selection).

6. Period & Timestamps

Period start

Start date of the activities responsible for emissions calculated for the log.

Period end

End date of the activities responsible for emissions calculated for the log.

Created at

Timestamp indicating when the log was created.

7. Tags & Attachments

Files

Files attached to the log entry.

Organization tags

Organization related tags used for reporting, filtering or sorting. (optional value added by user)

Product tags

Product-related tags used for categorisation and reporting. (optional value added by user)

8. Supplier Information

Supplier

Supplier associated with the log entry (if applicable).

9. Emission Factor Details

Emission factor ID

Unique identifier of the emission factor used. (internal to Cozero)

Emission factor description

Description of the emission factor used for calculation.

Emission factor source

Dataset or source of the emission factor (e.g. DEFRA, EPA).

Emission factor territory

Geographical applicability of the emission factor.

Emission factor validity year

Reference year of the emission factor.

Emission factor unit

Unit used by the emission factor.

Global warming potential version

GWP version used for the calculation (e.g. AR5, AR6).

Emission type

Indicates whether emissions are upstream/downstream electricity losses, Upstream fuel, biogenic, etc.

10. Input Values

Merged input value

Final input value used for the calculation after normalization.

Input as entered 1–10

Raw input values exactly as provided by the user.

Note: Multiple input columns exist to support complex activities requiring more than one input parameter.

11. Emissions & Energy Outputs

Emissions (tCO₂e)

Total calculated emissions in tonnes of CO₂ equivalent.

Location-based emissions (tCO₂e)

Emissions calculated using location-based methodology (where applicable).

CBAM emissions (tCO₂e)

Emissions relevant for CBAM reporting.

Biogenic emissions (tCO₂e)

Emissions classified as biogenic.

Energy consumption (kWh)

Energy consumption associated with the log (if applicable).

Energy type

Type of energy consumed (e.g. electricity, gas).

12. Financial Data

Spend

Spend amount associated with the log entry.

Important Notes

  • Period filters may proportionally split values across months (monthly slicing).
  • Export values reflect the filtered view (based on period selection), which may or may not be exactly equal to the original log.
