📢 Business Activity Structure Changes (Effective 18 September 2025)
On 18 September 2025, Cozero will update how Business Activities (also referred to as Activity Data Sources, ADS) are structured in the platform. This article explains what is changing, why it matters, and how to prepare.
Why is this change happening?
Currently, Business Activities are organized in a tree structure. While detailed, this has made it harder for users to quickly find the correct activity during data entry or when using bulk import templates.
Based on customer feedback, we are:
-
Replacing the tree with a single-level searchable list
-
Updating selected activity names for clarity and consistency
-
Applying these changes across the user interface and bulk upload templates
👉 Please note: activities related to CBAM, EcoTransIT, or organization-specific custom activities will not be renamed.
Benefits of this update
-
Faster and more intuitive activity selection
-
Clearer and more consistent naming conventions
-
Easier bulk upload preparation
-
A foundation for future features, such as AI-supported activity matching
This change applies across Cozero features including:
-
Log entries
-
Supplier-specific emission factor requests
-
The Action Simulator
How to prepare
Depending on how you currently use Cozero, here’s what you should do:
1. If you are actively collecting data with bulk import templates
-
Please upload your data before 18 September 2025 so your current files work without modification.
2. If you haven’t started filling templates yet
-
You may continue now or wait until after 18 September.
-
After the update, the template structure remains the same, but the Business Activity column in the Data guide tab will reflect the updated names.
3. If you use Cozero activity names internally
-
Update your internal documentation, such as:
-
Data gathering templates
-
Internal guidelines
-
Handbooks on “How to enter data in Cozero”
-
-
A detailed name change log is available to support you during this transition.
